Often regarded as the “classic massage”, a Swedish massage is a therapeutic treatment where the muscles and soft tissues are worked, resulting in deep relaxation, stress and tension relief and a soothed nervous system.
Swedish massage techniques include, kneading, stroking, gliding, rubbing, tapping, pounding and vibrations. The pressure can be adjusted to suit your preference and specific areas can be focused on at your request. A Swedish massage differs from a deep tissue massage in that a lighter pressure is used over more bony areas, whilst a firmer pressure is used over areas with a thicker muscle coverage.
All massages are carried out on my comfortable, heated massage couch that is extra wide for added comfort. You will experience true relaxation snuggled under soft warm blankets, with essential oil burning, to really soothe your senses and create that Spa atmosphere at home.
I mix my own aromatherapy massage oils which are used in every treatment. You will be able to choose your preferred oil before your treatment commences.
For bespoke aromatherapy oil blends to target specific issues please contact me in advance and this can be provided at an additional cost.

I had a reiki session as well as a Swedish back massage and facial treatment with Simone and all were absolutely amazing. I would add that it was the best facial treatment I’ve ever had. Simone is lovely, very caring and makes your home as a spa. I would recommend her in a heartbeat. I am looking forward to another treatment with her

Swedish Massage FAQ’s
The Swedish Massage treatments I offer vary in lengths of time from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. For a full body healing and relaxation experience I recommend the 90 minute massage as this gives me time to work thoroughly on all areas of the body. Please allow 15 minutes either side of your massage for me to set-up, do a consultation and pack away.
You don’t need to do anything specific before your Swedish Massage although I always think it’s beneficial to have 10 minutes of calm before you arrive for your treatment so that you get the most out of your massage.
During your Swedish you will be asked to go down to your knickers or boxer shorts and remove all jewellery, with hair tied back in a pony or clip. Your modesty will be maintained throughout the treatment using warm, soft blankets to ensure you are never inappropriately exposed. If you do not feel comfortable going down to your knickers or boxers please speak to me as I may be able to adapt the treatment to suite your needs or suggest an alternative treatment.
After your Swedish Massage you will feel deeply relaxed, sleepy and often a little spaced out. Your body will feel relieved of tension and if you have had a deeper pressure, perhaps a little tender. It is always advisable to set aside some time after your treatment to sit and rest and make sure you drink lots of water for the rest of the day to stay hydrated and flush out any toxins.
Swedish Massages work to have a calming and relaxing effect on the mind and body. Soothing your nervous system, calming the mind, whilst reducing stress and inflammation in the body. Swedish Massages can improve sleep, reduce stress, anxiety and worry, lift mood and shift stuck energy in the body. Swedish Massages also improve circulation, promote the removal of toxins from the body via lymphatic drainage, reduce muscle and joint pain and tension and improving mobility.
